George Lake Outfitters is located in the
northern section of the Whiteshell Provincial Park on the shore
of the Winnipeg River. Our Hunts take place in rugged Pre-Cambrian
Shield country, which offers up large tracts of undisturbed forest.
The hunting area is remote and is located between the Winnipeg
River and George Lake. We travel to the hunting area by boat,
Argo and on foot to access the various trails, shoreline, and
tree-stands, depending upon the weather. Tree-stands are situated
overlooking travel routes, and/or active rub and scrape lines.Hunts
take place just before and during the rut, so the deer are very
active, and bucks generally come to the scrapes every two to
three days. We have found that rattling and calling have provided
great success in drawing the bucks out as well. |

The rugged terrain of the shield lends
itself to an exhilarating hunting experience.
The hunts take place within a 5-7 mile radius of the cabin. It
does involve crossing the Winnipeg River and then hooking up
onto the deer trails, which abound between the shores of the
Winnipeg River and George Lake. We
offer a 6-day, Non-Resident White-Tail Deer Hunt at a cost of
$2200.00 per person, (U.S Funds). This cost covers airport pickup
and drop-off at the Winnipeg International Airport, Home-Cooked
Meals, Guide Service and Argo and Boat Transport. Licences, taxes
and mounting fees are not included in the price. (Pricing subject to change without notice.) |
